Teamcenter Incremental Change
What is Incremental Change?
Incremental Change collects structure changes like addition, removal, changes to attachment etc. These structure changes are configured collectively when incremental change (collection object) is configured by revision rule based on its effectivity. Several unrelated structure changes can be configured by this method.
They are mostly used with large, flat structures where configuring with revision effectivity is not suitable. While configuring with revision effectivity, with each combination of change (addition, removal etc.) a new revision will be created. Tracking of these changes will also be difficult for large sub-assembly at the same level.
Incremental Change is enabled in teamcenter by setting Incremental_Change_Management preference to true.

Changes tracked by incremental change
Active incremental change (configured by revision rule) will track and configure following type of changes.
Access Rules on incremental change
Before understanding access rules on incremental change, lets us know, why these rules will be required for incremental change. By default, object with release status cannot be modified.
Few pointers on evaluating access rules
- Access rule is evaluated from top to bottom.
- Sub-branch of rule is evaluated before evaluating its parent rule.
- For multiple sub-branch rule, sub-branch is evaluated from top to bottom
When a rule is not satisfied for the object, associated ACL for that rule is skipped. Example of rules to grant required access for incremental change tracking & configuration.
